Who may need full mouth rehabilitation

Severely worn teeth

Grinding, acid erosion or age can wear teeth down until they are short, sensitive or chipping.

Many missing or failing teeth

When several teeth are missing and others are heavily restored, a whole-mouth plan is often clearer than treating one tooth at a time.

Bite problems

A collapsed or uneven bite can make chewing difficult and affect how the face looks at rest.

Old restorations failing together

Multiple old crowns, bridges or fillings that are breaking down may be planned as one coordinated treatment.

A staged plan

Every rehabilitation is different, but most follow these stages. Timelines vary from a few months to longer, depending on what is needed.

  1. 1

    Records

Clinical examination, X-rays and often a CBCT, photographs and study models give a full picture of the teeth, gums and jaws.

  2. 2

    Bite analysis

Models are mounted to study how the jaws meet, how much space there is, and where the bite should be rebuilt.

  3. 3

    Foundation treatment

Decay, gum disease, root canals and extractions are addressed first so the final work rests on a healthy base.

  4. 4

    Trial and provisional phase

Temporary restorations let you test the new bite, appearance and comfort for a period, and they are adjusted as needed.

  5. 5

    Definitive restorations

Once the provisional phase is stable, the final crowns, bridges, implants or dentures are made, often in sections.

  6. 6

    Maintenance

Regular reviews, and often a night guard, help protect the work and catch small problems early.

What the plan may include

The combination is chosen for your mouth; not every patient needs every option.

Crowns and onlays

To rebuild worn or weakened teeth and restore the height of the bite.

Bridges

To replace short gaps between sound teeth.

Implants

To replace missing teeth where bone and general health allow.

Dentures

Complete, partial or implant-supported, where they suit the situation better than fixed work.

Full-arch implant options

All-on-4 style fixed full-arch treatment may be considered only where suitable after detailed assessment.

Risks and limitations

Full mouth rehabilitation is a significant commitment of time, appointments and cost. Restorations can chip, teeth that have been treated can still decay, and implants carry surgical risks. Habits such as grinding, and conditions such as uncontrolled diabetes, can affect results.

The provisional phase exists to reduce surprises, but it cannot remove every risk. We explain the trade-offs of each option and what maintenance will be needed before you commit.

What affects the cost

The cost of full mouth rehabilitation depends entirely on assessment, because no two plans are alike. You receive a staged written estimate after records and diagnosis.

  • Number of teeth treated

The number of crowns, bridges or implants is the largest single factor.

  • Foundation treatment

Root canals, gum treatment and extractions needed first are part of the plan.

  • Implants and grafting

Implants, and any bone grafting, add surgical stages and components.

  • Materials

Restoration and prosthesis materials vary in cost and suitability.

  • Provisional phase

Temporary restorations and adjustments during the trial phase are included in the estimate.

Protecting the work afterwards

  • Brush and clean between teeth daily, including under bridges and around implants.
  • Wear a night guard if advised, especially if you grind or clench.
  • Attend maintenance visits as scheduled, even when everything feels fine.
  • Report any chipping, looseness or change in bite early.

Questions about full mouth rehabilitation

Straight answers to what patients ask us most. Still unsure? Just ask.

Have another question?Message us on WhatsApp
How much does full mouth rehabilitation cost?

It depends on how many teeth are treated, whether implants are needed and the materials chosen. After records and diagnosis we give a staged estimate, so you can see the cost of each phase.

How long does full mouth rehabilitation take?

Timelines vary widely, from a few months to longer when implants, grafting or gum treatment are involved. We give an expected timeline once the plan is set.

Will I have teeth during treatment?

In most plans you have temporary teeth during the provisional phase. These let you test the new bite and appearance before final restorations are made.

Is it painful?

Individual procedures are done under local anaesthesia, and most patients manage well with short-term soreness afterwards. We spread the work over planned visits rather than doing everything at once.

Can I have it if I have diabetes or heart problems?

Often yes, if the condition is well controlled. We may coordinate with your physician, especially if implants or extractions are part of the plan.
